Our Story
Three decades of Caribbean soul, served with love by the Meyers family.
From Marigot Waterfront to La Savane Garden
For over 35 years, the Meyers family has been a cornerstone of Saint Martin's culinary scene. What began as a small waterfront eatery in Marigot has grown into one of the island's most beloved dining destinations — but the heart of Sandy's Too has never changed.
Sandra Meyers, the family matriarch and ever-present hostess, has made every guest feel like family since day one. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a longtime regular, you'll be greeted with the same warmth that's made Sandy's Too a must-visit for travelers and locals alike.
"We don't just serve food — we share our home, our culture, and our island spirit," Sandra says. "Every plate that leaves our kitchen carries a piece of our family's story."
35+ Years of Island Flavor
The Beginning
The Meyers family sets up their first small food spot on the Marigot waterfront. Word spreads quickly about Sandra's authentic Creole cooking — the flavors of home, served with genuine warmth.
Sandy's Too is Born
With a growing reputation and a loyal following of locals and visitors, the family opens Sandy's Too as a dedicated restaurant — a place where Creole traditions meet the warmth of Caribbean hospitality. The name "Too" reflects the expansion of the family's culinary dream.
The Garden Lounge
Sandy's Too moves to its lush garden setting in La Savane, creating the open-air tropical dining experience that guests have come to love. Surrounded by tropical plants, string lights, and the sounds of the island, the Garden Lounge becomes the restaurant's signature.
Hurricane Irma — Resilience
Hurricane Irma devastates Saint Martin, and Sandy's Too is not spared. But the Meyers family, like the island itself, refuses to stay down. They rebuild with determination, reopening their doors to a community that needed the comfort of familiar flavors and friendly faces more than ever.
Two Locations, One Spirit
Sandy's Too now operates from both the beloved Garden Lounge in La Savane and Sandy's Waterfront Bar at Place du Marche in Marigot. The family continues to serve the same authentic Creole cuisine that has drawn guests for over three decades — with the same love, the same recipes, and the same unforgettable hospitality.
Fresh, Local, Made with Love
Every dish at Sandy's Too is made fresh to order. We source our fish from local fishermen, our vegetables from island growers, and our spices from the Caribbean traditions that have been passed down through generations.
From our slow-simmered curry goat to our crispy coconut shrimp, from our wood-fired pizzas to our grilled whole snapper — everything is prepared with the same care and attention that Sandra brings to her own family table.
And don't leave without trying our homemade hot sauce. Made in-house with locally grown peppers, it's become so popular that we bottle it for guests to take home. Ask your server — it's the perfect souvenir from Saint Martin.
Our Kitchen Team
Behind every plate is a dedicated team of cooks, grillers, and kitchen artists who share the Meyers family's passion for Creole cuisine. Many have been with us for years — they're part of the family, and it shows in every dish.
Our kitchen runs on tradition, teamwork, and a deep respect for the ingredients. The team works together like a well-rehearsed band — everyone knows their part, and the result is consistent, soulful food that brings people back again and again.
From the early morning prep of marinades and sauces to the evening rush of grilling snapper and stirring curries, our cooks take pride in making every dish worthy of the Sandy's Too name.
Sandra herself is still a constant presence — greeting guests, checking on tables, and making sure everyone leaves happy. It's this hands-on, family-first approach that sets Sandy's Too apart.
